Unbeaten Absa Premiership records will be on the line when Bloemfontein Celtic and Bidvest Wits square off at Tuks Stadium in Pretoria on Thursday afternoon.
Kick-off is at 3:30pm CAT (SA, GMT+2).
Siwelele extended their unbeaten run in the league to three matches, all since the restart, with a 2-2 draw away to relegation-threatened AmaZulu earlier this week.
Their sequence of results include a 3-1 thumping of league leaders Kaizer Chiefs and John Maduka's men still have a Nedbank Cup final to look forward to next month.
"We could've done better [against AmaZulu]. We knew that it was going to be difficult considering AmaZulu's position," said Maduka.
"We will go back and make sure that we recover. The games are coming quickly and we need to make sure we prepare well for our next game against Wits who are a dangerous team."
Wits have gone seven league matches unbeaten after playing to a fourth draw in their last five outings with a 0-0 stalemate versus Maritzburg United at Tuks.
Lorenzo Gordinho has been key to the Clever Boys' run of clean sheets in the bio-bubble and the former Phunya Sele Sele defender is looking forward to coming up against his former employers.
"It has been a decent run for us. Since that defeat to Sundowns [in the Nedbank Cup] we haven't lost a game in the bubble," said Gordinho. "It is a decent record and we are working hard to start turning draws into wins. There aren't many games left and we just want to finish the season on a good note."
"I think it will be a tough game, Celtic have been playing some good football. Their confidence is high. They've reached the final of the Nedbank Cup, so I think it is going to be a good game, it will be a fight and it is a game I'm looking forward to."
When the teams met earlier this season, at the Bidvest Stadium in January 2020, Wits claimed a 3-2 home win thanks to goals from Phathutshedzo Nange, Haashim Domingo and Gift Motupa. The teams’ last two league meetings have produced 11 goals.
PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Bloemfontein Celtic
Motebang Sera: With three goals in his last two matches, the Lesotho international is the form striker in the league. His combination with Ndumiso Mabena has proven a real handful for opposition defences in the bio-bubble and Sera will be aiming to add to his goal tally against a resolute Wits defence.
Lantshene Phalane: The hard-working midfield maestro is key to breaking down opposition defences . Phalane will have to be at the top of his powers against a Wits midfield that has conjured two man-of-the-match performances in their last three games.
Bidvest Wits
Phathutshedzo Nange: The Clever Boys midfielder will welcome Cole Alexander back from suspension in the Clever Boys midfield. The duo have formed an effective relationship in midfield with Nange afforded more freedom next to Alexander – a role in which he has flourished since football's return.
Rowan Human: The 19-year-old has taken his first-team chance with both hands and his form has been one of the highlights of the bio-bubble. Human boasts great attacking awareness and opens opposition defences with smart runs. Having already scored his first professional goal, he will be hoping to add another against Celtic.
